|We started April in a Thousand
Trails Park south of San Jose. The park has lots of very old
Sycamores and lots of Acorn Woodpeckers. The Acorn
holes in the tree and then push acorns into the holes to retrieve later
when food is scarce. We’ve also heard that the acorns rot
there and draw insects which the woodpeckers also feed on. This is a
close-up of one section of a tree. We've seen whole trees
like this, 40 feet high.
The first weekend in April we
moved over to Morgan Hill and spent a couple of nights with my cousin
and his wife at their home in San Jose. While we were there,
we helped celebrate Judy’s birthday with the rest of their family.

left Jack's Sunday afternoon and drove to Santa Cruz to visit
Seth at college. He took us on the tour of the UC campus and
bought us lunch in the cafeteria. It’s a beautiful campus
full of giant redwoods and flowering trees.
The following day we pulled the
trailer across the Pacheco Pass to visit Jim’s children in Newman and
Gustine. We were able to sleep in the trailer parked in front
of Danny’s shop.
our way north we met Jim’s son, Dave, for lunch in Sacramento. Jim
would be spending
time with him, but I wanted a visit too.
I spent the last two weeks at
Lesley’s while Jim went back south to Dave’s in Vacaville. I
was there for Easter and it was a little strange with Seth gone and
Meagan all grown up. We did have a nice dinner with a friend
of Lesley’s. We tried to keep all the traditions.
Here's Meagan after finding her Easter Basket.
prom was on April 30 and I was delighted to be able to be there for the
pre-prom activities. Be sure to click on this picture to see
