February we did another MMAP project at Bonifay, Florida.  The men completed the renovation of the top floor of Palmer Hall. At right Mike Habitz and Dennis Rand work their way down the stairs with paint brush and roller.

Sue painting trim

The MMAP women painted trim, did some landscaping, defrosted freezers and pressed curtains. At left, Buddy, Sue Travis, paints baseboards in Palmer Hall . Buddies are couples that are trying out MMAP.  They can work one project without any obligation to join.

MMAPers at Valentine Breakfast

The MMAP men cooked the MMAP ladies a Valentine Breakfast of pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage made to order.

Nancy

The MMAP ladies went to Dothan and toured the murals on our Ladies Day Out.  At left is Nancy Stall, dwarfed by the mural.

Dothan has Twenty colorful murals depicting the history of the Wiregrass area in the downtown. There are also more than 60 4-foot-tall, painted peanuts around town that reflect the area’s industries and personalities (even Elvis!) while reminding visitors that Dothan is the Peanut Capital of the World.

Matt's pizza party

I left in the middle of the project to fly to Minnesota to celebrate my mother's 100th birthday. I flew into Minneapolis and got there just in time for my grandson, Matt's, 12th birthday party.  Matt is the good looking one second from the left.

Mom at 100 years

On February 25 we celebrated my mom's 100th biirthday at her church in Ely.  The ladies of the church served about 100 people and she was interviewed by several newspapers. Almost all the family members were there except for a few great-grandchildren away at college.

Mom, Irene and Donna Esterberg

The celebration included a few surprises.  My daughter Jeannie and her husband,Tim resurrected an old video from a family reunion in 1995 and showed an edited version.  Jeannie and Jennifer sang a ballad written for mom's 90th birthday that told the story of her life.  Click on the picture at right to see the biggest surprise of all.
